The Pinterest Diet.

In my last post I told you guys about my bad beauty habits and my resolution to be a healthier me! I wanted to continue with that theme by telling you guys about my new eating and fitness plan!
Pinterest has been my main source of new recipes, inspiration and workout tips. I've created a board that is completely dedicated to my new healthy lifestyle (check it out here). I'll be doing some other posts to share my favorite pins as well :)

Fitness
As I posted before, I've recently rejoined the gym. I joined Fenix Fitness in Geelong and I really love the facility. I've been working six days a week and allow one day a week for me to have a break. I don't usually plan the day ahead of time, it's usually just a day when I run out of time and can't make it to the gym! I've been doing a combination of cardio and strength. I'll usually do the elliptical or go for a run, then head over to the weight machines and work my legs, arms and core. I also incorporate the fitness classes my gym has to offer into my routine. I really like Zumba, Pilates and Yoga. SoonI'll be starting some of the Les Mills classes, I'll let you know how they go!

For those of you who don't have a gym membership, there are plenty of workouts that you can do at home! Blogilates has great workout videos and fitness tips, as well as some nutritional info. Jillian Michaels makes great fitness DVDs that you can probably find at your local library or buy online for cheap!

Nutrition
Working out is great but nutrition is the most important factor in getting the body that you want! Food provides fuel for your work out and can affect your mood and appearance. I've only recently starting eating relatively healthy and am already noticing the difference in my weight, skin, and energy. Here's an example of what I eat on a normal day:

Breakfast
Multivitamin
Green Tea
Water

Lunch
Toasted Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich with Honey
Orange
Water

Post-Workout Snack
Protein Shake (Soymilk, ice, Chocolate Protein Powder, Tablespoon of Peanut Butter, and a Banana blended together)
Lots of water!!

Dinner
Salad with tempeh and chickpeas roasted in hot sauce, feta, mixed greens, and fat free Ceasar dressing
Pear
Water (can you tell I drink a lot of water?)
Omega-3 Supplement
Hair, Skin and Nails Vitamin

Dessert
Mini ice cream treat

I've found some sites with great ideas for meals and snacks. Here you can find some ideas for sweet and salty snacks. Peanut Butter Fingers also has some great recipes.

I'll be letting you guys know how this works for me! Let me know about your health routine too!
