DIY: Glitterized Tissue Holder

A few weeks ago my mom handed me the ugliest tissue holder ever. It was brown wicker and totally not my  style. However, I took from her KNOWING that I could make something super fun with it. I immediately spray painted it black so that it matched my decor a little better, but plain black is just a little boring. So I decided to give it some PIZAZZZZ! If you didn't already know I'm a bit of a glitter freak, anything glitzy makes me smile. So i decided what my boring little tissue holder needed was some glitter!

What you need:

A Tissue Holder
Painters Tape
A Wide Paintbush
Glue
and GLITTER!

STEP ONE:

Use painters tape to section off what you want to be glittery. I went for a bold stripe at the bottom, but I think chevron or multiple stripes would look awesome!

Use your paintbrush to spread glue on the section(s) you want to be glittery. Spray adhesive would also work, I just didn't have any!

Now for the fun part shake that glitter on!!! I just poured it on and shook it off, like you do with kids projects!

Now you just have to remove the tape and let it dry and VIOLA!

That should make cold and flu season a little more glamorous!

I've decided to incorporate DIYs as a regular segment on the blog, so check back soon to see what else I craft up!
